MAKING FUNKIN’ LOVE STEAMY SESSION

it brings me so much joy to present to all of you lovely funkers reading this blog post and getting ready to view this masterpiece, my evolution into my steamy sessions — MAKING FUNKIN’ LOVE Steamy Sessions.
over the past 5 years of creating beautiful steamy masterpieces all over the world with my funkers, I’ve constantly gotten the question, “would i ever photograph my couples in the act of making love on camera?” i would always be so quick to turn the request down or make lighthearted jokes about it all before steering the conversation away from this topic because, I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE with it.
it’s one thing to ensure i make my couples feel comfortable in the space we create in but it’s another to ensure that as the artist, I too, must feel safe and comfortable at all times.
i can’t lie and say I haven’t thought about it as i’ve always been curious to see how I would document such a session without making it look so raunchy and bold. i thought, if I’m going to photograph such a session like this, I need it to tell a cinematic story with beautiful composition in order to evoke a feeling.
i created a new style of photography within my industry all by pulling on your heartstrings and allowing you to FEEL what’s happening in the art. They aren’t just images. each one proudly stands on its own as a work of art and when you view the story as a whole, the masterpiece comes to life.
i then, thought to myself, if ANYONE is going to attempt something like this i very humbly say, “it ought to be me, the KING OF STEAM” to take on such a creative and exploratory challenge that many creators out there may be hesitant on taking on for themselves.
trust me, when i first started my steamy sessions, i was one of those many creators who was hesitant to take them on.
this whole year has already been filled with so much curiosity. i am allowing it to fuel my creative endeavors and lead me into a path hardly ever or never traveled before.
ever since marrying the love of my life and having our first child, I have been a risk taker. with no place to call home but a spare bedroom in both our parents’ homes (and by spare bedroom i might add for further embarrassment, was our own childhood bedrooms we grew up in.), something needed to be done.
“it’s now or never”, i said to myself as i sobbed into my 3am denny’s grand slam one morning. i was set to go into my early morning ups job at the time but something in me told me not to go. i was already getting my feet wet with doing photography on the side and so i entered the first parking lot i could find and entered the denny’s. it was at that very moment, october 2016 that i decided i have nothing to lose but have everything to prove to my little growing family that i can be a provider and a safe haven for them.
i’ll leave this story on a pause for now, but plan to further deepen this story in its own separate blog post when I have the emotional strength to write all my feelings out and not sob uncontrollably (as I wipe away tears writing this). but for now, let’s get back to the making funkin’ love journey.
when the opportunity came to photograph my lovely couple with this type of photography, i was wholeheartedly nervous to my core. my heart felt like it was racing and in my stomach for the entire session. i am truly self-aware that i get so nervous before any session i get to create but this time, this — felt different. please don’t take it the wrong way, the energy and the vibes throughout the entire session was amazing. it felt like we knew each other for years and years when in reality, this was our first time ever meeting in person.
i think this all stems from wanting to ensure that i give it my all and that i not only make my couple proud of the art we are creating but that i make myself and my family proud, as well. and after spending time digitally painting (what i like to call my editing sessions), for hours on end and building this masterpiece, i must say, i am proud!
i am eternally grateful to my couple for trusting me with their hearts and entire being when creating this masterpiece for them. i appreciate them so much for always checking in on me to ensure i was okay and that I felt safe and comfortable every step of the way. i already cannot wait to create more masterpieces with them and build my portfolio even more so with these, Making Funkin’ Love Steamy Sessions!

3-Part Epic Bacalar Elopement and Couple’s Boudoir Session
It all begins with an idea.
My gorgeous couple and thier epic plan for a bacalar elopement and couple’s boudoir session
from the moment i met these two beautiful souls, i knew there was just something SO special about them. their warm smiles brighten up my heart every time we got on a call to talk about their special day! this was my first elopement and steamy session of 2023. in this epic 3-part session, we had the chance to really let our walls down and open up our hearts to create what you see before your eyes!
we first began with an intimate steamy session on the day of their elopement where they had the chance to shake out any nerves they had by being with one another. the chemistry and love these two have is none like i’ve ever witnessed in my years of documenting couples. they were so in sync with their movements and burning desire for one another😨🔥
we celebrated their elopement on a special private dock overlooking the water where they had the chance to pour our their love for one another. the lighting was hitting in all the right places and was so divine!
the final part was, a day after steamy session where we headed back to the private dock as we noticed the sun would rise right on the horizon line. and again, more magic was created that left me breathless. i didn’t want the morning to end because i knew our time together was coming to an end.
these multiple day/part sessions will always be some of my favorite masterpieces ever created. more time together = more memories my couples and i get to collaborate on to make more masterpieces.
i often compare it to an oil painting. knowing the paint will take hours and hours to dry, you build more love and admiration for the masterpiece as you brush layer upon layer🥹🎨
